Nissan's infamous S13 has lamented itself as one of the most versatile cars on the road today. Whether your daily driver, drift missile, or dedicated show car; the S Chassis can do it all. With its lightweight body and potent turbocharged two-liter engine it makes for a killer combination. This '93 180SX is a great take on what show and go can create. One of the best companies out there for drift kits is Origin Labo who was turned to for the full aero upgrade. Bumpers, skirts, front vented fenders, and molded rear overfenders. As you can imagine, for the added clearance the stock rears have been cut out several inches to ensure clearance for larger wheel setups. Currently, it's sitting on 17" Racing Hart CR's wrapped in fresh rubber. Frankly, the wheels are a little small for the widened track but fit the look of the car style-wise right well. Its obvious that the car was repainted in its original Super Black (KH3) when all of the aero was added. The paint itself shows rather well barring some typical imperfections in the paint itself due to the nature of black paint always showing any little blemishes. The bodywork is in good condition as well which is often a concern with FRP aero. The bumpers don't have any spiderwebbing in the paint or cracks which is a typical result of any small impacts. The whole car has been lowered on Buddy Club coilovers but sits high enough that you don't have to fear every little dip in the road. There is a small chip in the passenger rear tail light that you can note in the photos but it doesn't appear to have any impact on its functionality. The whole aero setup looks great paired up with the factory lines and makes it a very subtle head turner without the need for a massive wing or crazy paint job.

The interior is a combination of light-duty track time without having to sacrifice all of your normal amenities. The bright red Recaro reclinable driver's seat provides plenty of support for spirited driving and is comfortable enough to daily drive, unlike the more common fixed-back buckets. The seat is in great shape considering aftermarket bolsters are so tall they have a tendency to wear down faster than stock ones do. The passenger seat shows its age a bit but overall is in good shape barring some light discoloration. Obviously the back seats are a bit uncomfortable since they were removed in order to fit in a Safety 21 bolt in half cage. There's also a Cusco rear strut tower brace back there for even more chassis reinforcement. Since the rear has been stripped its obviously a good deal louder in the cabin, so this may be more of a weekend toy than a daily driver. They did keep all of the power accessories like the windows, digital climate control, and even the head unit (despite not having much compatibility stateside.) The Momo wheel is a nice upgrade and frames the Auto Gauge boost gauge and the digital Yashio Factory coolant temp gauge nicely. The dash has the typical crack that most every S13 suffers from but the Shevron dash mat does a nice job of tidying it up a bit. The door panels are in good nick and don't have any of the peeling that we see from delamination over the years.

Fitted with the only proper motor for an S chassis, the SR20DET. The aluminum two-liter has been outfitted with all of the basic bolt on's you would want, but nothing to make reliability an issue. With only 90K unverified miles the SR feels strong right off of idle. The power delivery is smooth and the car certainly scoots. There's no wonder why the larger KA is routinely ditched in favor of this lightweight powerhouse. To help it breathe a bit easier an M's intake was fitted and makes all the right noises on liftoff. Nicely tucked in next to the intake is a Greddy PRofec-B boost controller with its main controller mounted against the trans tunnel just below the dash for easy access. For a little extra peace of mind, a polished catch can was mounted up by the firewall so you can easily drain it. It should go without saying that any car like this needs some help in the exhaust department. It looks like a Kakimoto mid pipe was modified to house a Fujitsubo top to give the SR its own distinct tone. Since we all know this car wasn't built for drag racing the suspension has a few additional tweaks to bring out the most of the nimble chassis. Dmax extended tie rods allow for considerably more angle on turn-in and the Cusco rear upper control arms do a nice job of keeping the rear end in check. While we don't know the brand, the rear diff does feel like it's been upgraded to a more aggressive two way LSD. At low speeds it is more pronounced than the stock diff, but with a purpose-built car that is to be expected. The transmissions is smooth and engages with ease and the small shift knob is surprisingly great in the hand. Mechanically we've gone over the car and brought it back up to speed with those new tires, a diff fluid change, along with a routine oil change. One drive and you'll understand why the S13 is one of the best driving cars out there and this one is no exception.
