This raucous runabout has a lot going for it, and is highlighted by loads of good factory options and upgraded equipment.

Exterior Overview

In a market dominated by underpowered, plush, and technology laden soft-roaders, trucks like this spritely 1993 Pajero are a breath of fresh air. This turbodiesel runabout is frugal on fuel, sporty around town, and is highlighted by loads of good factory options and upgraded equipment. The Balboa Blue/Silver (T88) body is set off by a set of OEM rainguards, a factory brushguard with integrated amber fogs, a stylish rear spoiler, and refinished Enkei alloys. Aside from some light dings, chips, and scuffs associated with normal use, the paint is in fine shape and this recently serviced rig boasts 143k verified and documented miles. A head turning rig that’s even more exhilarating to drive, this Japanese Classic would make for an ideal daily driver, or short wheelbase weekend trail cruiser!

Interior Overview

The interior of this Pajero is a swell place to be. The upholstery assumes an almost canvas-esque texture and the visibility from the driver’s seat is top tier, as the driving position allows you to see above traffic. The dashboard lacks any cracking or fading and houses a factory gauge suite that works as it should. The center stack includes working climate control and functional OEM audio. Power windows, mirrors, and electric door locks all work like a charm and make daily use more enjoyable. The seats are in good shape and lack any major rips, stains, or tears. There is some separation of the stitchwork on the backs of the rear seats, which does little to take away from the interior’s appeal as a whole. The door cards, carpets, and headliners have resisted major abuse over the years and are in fair shape overall. The new owner will even receive the owner’s manuals and maintenance booklets for originality’s sake, and to protect your prized JDM investment!

Mechanical Overview

Enthusiasts lust for the 4M40 under the bonnet, and for good reason. This peppy turbodiesel is world renowned, bulletproof, and fresh off a lot of good service here in the states. The 4M40 diesel is fresh off an oil and filter service and cranks over with haste. It idles with confidence and a new fuel filter was just installed to keep unwanted contaminants out of the engine. We installed a new valve cover gasket, and resealed the oil pan for good measure to ensure you don’t lose any necessary lubricant. Some would consider this turbodiesel peppy, and a smooth shifting automatic gearbox sends power to a selective transfercase. Even a center locker or low gearing can be utilized if a beach trip is in order. Bilstein suspension delivers a premium ride quality, and we’ve performed some good rehab on the drivetrain to ensure this rig stays safe and turn-key. We installed a new front left wheel bearing, and new rear swaybar links were mounted up to keep the suspension compliant. We also shored up the power steering system with new inner and outer tie rods. The brakes feel confident slowing down this three-door and the 16″ Enkei alloys are wrapped in good 31″ Falken all-terrain rubber. This raucous runabout has a lot going for it, and we think the next owner is bound to agree!
